Experience: Basic hiking skills in hills & mountains

Location: Nordegg, & Lake Abraham, Alberta

Fitness Level: Reasonable fitness (ability to climb a ladder, go for a short run or hike)

Girth Hitch & Zuc’min Guiding have partnered to bring you this unique Indigenous land based learning.

This adventure  will empower you on a journey towards a greater connection with Indigenous perspectives. You will come away feeling more connected to the land and Indigenous ways of seeing  our mountainous landscape. Our guides create a safe environment bringing together Western, Indigenous and Guiding knowledge to help you understand Indigenous mountain knowledge.

  • Wear hiking clothing and layers (prepare for all types of weather)
  • Please arrive with lunch, water, a full tank of gas, and be ready to adventure 
  • Come with openness and questions

Tim Patterson
Tim Patterson has been an outdoor professional for over 15 years and has hiked and explored both the western parts of Canada and the United States for over 30 years. Tim is a recognized Indigenous Interpretive Guide and Educator, teaching Indigenous knowledge; culture; and practices. Zuc’min Guiding was developed through combining his Academic, Indigenous and guiding backgrounds where he focused on Indigenous Knowledge.
