Adventure Details
The Alpine Leadership course is designed to develop capable, confident decision-makers in complex mountain terrain. Building on previous mountaineering, scrambling, and rock skills, this program focuses on the tools and judgment required to lead others safely through varied alpine environments. Participants learn to interpret terrain classes, manage movement over loose and exposed features, apply short-roping techniques, and make timely decisions based on weather, navigation, and objective hazards. The course blends technical refreshers with practical leadership, culminating in student-led alpine objectives on both snow/ice and rock. By combining systems knowledge with real-world application, Alpine Leadership empowers participants to move efficiently, strategically, and responsibly in the mountains.
