(Un)finished Business I

Tim & Liz Taylor
In the Spring of 2021, Liz Taylor and I enjoyed a number of days bolting a route which became my nemesis (Unfinished Business). We bolted anchors, cleaned, scrubbed and rappelled the ten pitches of fun, but challenging climbing.
As the valley warmed up and I moved into the alpine, bolting fell to the wayside until later that fall. In the Fall of 2021 Janet Welch and I had a great couple days bolting a route to add variety to Upper Lookout Slabs. Magic Carpet Ride was a fun four pitch addition to this high quality climbing zone. The rock was good and the going was pretty easy. Janet crushed the crux leads and took us to the top of the wall to claim the first ascent. I always find it amazingly fulfilling to watch a guest progress and then become independently competent in dynamic mountain environments.

As winter arrived I kept my mind on the route Liz and I had begun in the spring. Unfinished Business continued to taunt me.
